The Subcontracting trade fair at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on September 17 – 19, 2008 had a historic feel to it. The fair was held for the 18th time, 20 years after the first event. This shows that there is a continuous need for subcontractors and main contractors to meet. The Subcontracting trade fair has been for a number of years the biggest trade fair of the field in the Nordic countries and the second biggest in Europe. It is the biggest industrial trade fair in Finland with more exhibitors than any other industrial trade fair in the country.
The trade fair also reached a new visitor record of 17 992 visitors. The fair had almost 900 exhibitors from over 19 countries the number of stands being approximately 450. Next year the Subcontracting trade fair will be staged earlier than usual – September 8 – 10, 2009.
