BE Group Russia is a member of BE Group AB, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange since November 2006. The history of this business group started way back in 1885, when the company was founded in Malmö, Sweden. The name was then Bröderna Edstrand AB.
Late in the 1990s, BE Group added a number of companies to the group. Starckjohann Steel in Finland was acquired together with its subsidiary Starckjohann Steel, Estonia. At the same time, BE Group also established its own operations in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Denmark. In 2005 and 2006, subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and St Petersburg, Russia were started up.
Today, BE Group is geographically divided into three business areas: Sweden, Finland and Central Eastern Europe, with operations in 10 countries and around 950 employees.
